The Dark Knight is no newcomer to the staple of superhero storytelling: the good ol’ team-up. Batman and Robin. Batman and Superman. However, Adam West, the famed actor from the ‘60s Batman series, wants Christopher Nolan’s Batman to team up with . . . himself. “I’d love to play Batman, and come in one night, flying in through the library window on the wings of a bat, or something. Right when Batman is totally overwhelmed with terrible things happening in Gotham City, and give him some advice. Either as a real character or a fantasy character,” West told IGN.

West, who voices the character that shares his name in the animated TV series Family Guy, had been rumored to cameo in the Christopher Nolan movies. While a cameo seems out of the question, West discussed his thoughts on the new Batman movies.“Yes [ I’m a fan of the Nolan films]. Absolutely. I’m a fan of anything that’s good, especially when it’s conscientiously good,” West said.

He also talked about the idea of Batman dying in the upcoming film and whether that would be “too dark.” “To me, it’s an interesting idea because Batman—the character, the legend, the extension of it over all these years—it lends itself to different machinations, layers, different time zones—anything,” West said. “You could really pretty much mold Batman. He’s malleable, welcome and always interesting. They do The Dark Knight, and I did the Bright Knight.”
