No Justice League or Batman reboot for Christopher Nolan
Yesterday morning Christopher Nolan spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the possibility of him revisiting the Batman character, either in a rebooted version of the franchise or in DC Comics’ inevitable answer to The Avengers, The Justice League of America, which features all of DC’s greatest characters in an ensemble story. The answer, disappointingly, is not exactly what the fans want to hear. When asked if there were any plans in place for his involvement in Justice League, he was fairly blunt. “No, none at all,” Nolan said. “We’re finished with all we’re doing with Batman. This is the end of our take on this character.” Nolan speculates that the source of the rumor stems from his involvement as producer on Zack Snyder‘s upcoming Superman reboot, Man of Steel, but denies any further involvement in the DC universe. He also denies having anything to do with Warner Bros.’ reboot of the franchise, which he acknowledges is inevitable: “The great thing about Batman is he lives on for future generations to reinterpret, and obviously, Warner will have to decide in the future what they’re going to do with him,” he says. “We’ve had our say on the character. I’ve got no plans to do anything more, and certainly, no involvement with any Justice League project.”
