Sharpen your batarang, put on your cape and cowl and wait for the Bat-Signal, because DC is calling July 23, 2014 “Batman Day.” DC and comic book stores will be celebrating “Batman Day” in conjunction with DC celebrating 75 years of Batman. Stores will be giving away merchandise such as capes, bookmarks and Batman masks based on iconic Batman titles.

Batman has been a comic book staple since his May 1939 debut in Detective Comics issue #27. His popularity has never waned—he has been in countless comics, graphic novels, movies and even TV shows. Batman’s next film incarnation will work with Superman in the yet-untitled Man of Steel 2. ~Dylan Paisley
