“Epic” might be a term that gets thrown around a lot in the world of Hollywood, but when somebody like Gary Oldman drops one, it might be time to start believing it. In a recent interview with Empire, Oldman spoke openly about his opinion of Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises, and it sounds pretty exciting. “You know those Fast and Furious movies where they drive at one speed,” the Oscar-nominated actor says, “then they hit that button? And they put the octane or the gas into the engine and they seem to drive at hyperspeed? This is Chris hitting the button… It is a truly epic conclusion to the whole thing, and I don’t mean that in a gratuitous way.” Gratuitous or not, that should be enough to get fans of the Caped Crusader positively buzzing with anticipation. They won’t have much longer to buzz, either – the long-awaited conclusion to Nolan’s saga drops this Friday.
