Advance tickets for the screening of The Dark Knight Rises went on sale at 9 a.m. this morning at the IMAX Theatre in Sydney, Australia. Thousands of die-hard fans took to their computers to reserve a seat for the upcoming film. “It was a frenzy,” said Mark Bretherton, CEO of IMAX Theatre Sydney. “There are some serious fans out there.” The ticketing software crashed for 20 minutes as fans tried to purchase their tickets. Frustrated fans took to the IMAX Theatres Facebook page to express their thoughts. “Had my seats picked and details in correctly, got told there was a problem and to try again. Tried again: This session is so sold out. So mad,” posted Australian fan Tom Dixon.
