From interactive scavenger hunts to Mountain Dew promotional tie-ins, Warner Brothers is making sure word gets out about The Dark Knight Rises‘ imminent release. Which is why it’s no surprise a big deal was made about the release of the blockbuster’s newest poster. The promotional artwork features a pensive Christian Bale decked out in full Dark Knight gear, standing in front of a crumbling Gotham City backdrop while a flaming Batman logo burns in the background. The image gives little away concerning the film’s plot, which is still largely unknown. Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, Marion Cotillard, Liam Neeson, Gary Oldman and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are also set to star. The poster is reminiscent of 2008’s The Dark Knight artwork with the studio clearly banking on the sequel’s worldwide success.
